Veronica Castro Ravelo started making music in 1969, playing doublebass with a Children Classical Orchestra lead by maestro Rafael Ramos Vivar, till 1975 and traveled in Chile and part of Peru giving concerts and participating in festivals of youth orchestras of classical music.

In 1975 she traveled to Argentina and discovered her voice and begun her research in the Latin American folk music, singing with her mother Elisa, her sister Jacqueline and her brother Nahum in “Peñas” in the famous ” San Telmo ” neighborhood in Buenos Aires.

In 1977 she traveled to Holland where she worked with her sister Jacqueline and her brother Nahum in different groups of Latin American music, giving concerts in theaters, festivals and clubs, also she participated in festivals in Sweden, Denmark, Spain and Belgium.

She was invited to sing poems of Federico Garcia Lorca with music and lead by the famous Dutch composer Louis Andriessen .

For years she organized cultural activities such as “Peñas” and concerts with prominent Latin American and Dutch musicians, spreading the culture and music of their continent.

She has also sung in various ensembles such as “Neltume”, “Afán”, Real de Guitarreros”, “Verónica y su Medicina”, “Típico Tampoco”, “21’3 grms” and has sung with prominent musicians in the world of Jazz, Salsa, Bossa Nova, Tango, Rock, Folklore and Flamenco such as Hernán Ruiz, Ricardo Insunza, José Lopretti , Enrique Casanova , Jacqueline Castro, Gabriela Pizarro, Ricardo Mendeville, Macos di Paolo, Marco Toro, Rosset van Oss, Albet Ramos, Roberto Liescke, Miguel Padron, Marcos Gomez, Axel Prudencia, Rudy Albano, Juan Caballero, Ruven Ruppik, Michael Rorby, among others.

During 10 years she sung in duet with her sister Jacqueline, travelling to different countries in Europe, South America and Africa.

Over the years, she sung in several theaters such as Paradiso , Melkweg , De Soeterijn , De Doelen, De Meervaart, Concertgebouw, Krasnapolsky, Vondelpark Festival ( Amsterdam), Centrale Bibliotheek (Rotterdam), Poetrypark (Rotterdam), among others.

She has performed in the European Parliament, lead by Ricardo Insunza (guitar and arrangements) and Peter Bjornild (doublebass)

She has sung several times on television programs such as ” Telekids”, “Er is Meer tussen hemel en Aarde”, “Hotel Poggibonsi” van Bert Visscher, “Hessels Herberg” and “IKONHUIS”.

She traveled and worked in Djerba, Tunisia. She sung with her sister Jacqueline, in Hotel ” Dar Ali”.

Participation in CD recordings: (with her voice, guitar, cuatro and percussion) “Barro Tal vez”, “Joyas”, lead by Jacqueline Castro Ravelo, “Salsero”, lead by Albert Ramos and “Origen” lead by Francisco Peña.

Since 2007 she is working on a project called “Kunst Suite” (“The Suite of Art”) in “De Regenboog Groep Amsterdam” which is aimed at the homeless and people with mental health problems, to develop branches of art such as painting and music, not only as a therapeutic way of using time, but also to strengthen contact with the outside world, organizing a group of them since 2011 a project of music with repertoire of their own songs and arrangements, the idea is in the future to make a CD recording

In 2016 she recorded her first CD “Madrigal de ausencias” with talented musicians in the world of Jazz, Tango, Latin and Rock, such as José Lopretti (piano), Elias General(bass), Matías Pedrana (bandoneon), Marcos Baggiani (percussion and drums), lead by Hernán Ruíz (guitar and arrangements). All artists with a long career that combine traditional instruments like the bandoneon, “ cuatro”, cajon, maracas and bombo, with the piano, bass, drums and electric guitar. This project is sponsored by the famous Dutch songwriter Hessel van der Kooij.

In her repertoire she sings the Cuban Son, Bolero, Vals peruano, Tango, Chacarera, Zamba, Samba and typical rhythms of Venezuela, Chile and Mexico.
