Punk Is What Punk Does. . . .
Toronto born, LA raised, Texas escapee, Amsterdam based producer, songwriter, guitar playing singer makes his first record using all of his mentioned talents at the same time. He started playing in garage bands, had a flirtation with lounge and wedding bands, degreed in Composition & Arrangement and joined the seminal punk band Modern Warfare. A couple EP’s (Gexa X producing the first one) and producing the game changing Hell Comes To Your House with Modern Warfare’s bassist Steve Sinclair that gave birth to the MW’s singer/writer Jim Bemis named Bemisbrain Records. As things began to take off we eventually folded Bemisbrain into Greenworld Distribution and started producing and releasing lots of local acts. This arrangement evolved into Enigma Records and under the astute leadership of Wes & Bill Hein and an amazing collection of passionate colleagues the rest is a history.
Jump ahead to the 90’s, living in Amsterdam, the record industry begins to tank, add 5 years off for bad behavior and accidently collecting lots of material to write songs about, he bites the bullet starts to produce himself. “I taught a lot of people how to record of the years and just did it to myself” says Goudie.
Satanic Hippy Drug Orgy was recorded in Utrecht with Menno Bakker at the controls and was produced in what now days would be a unique way. 24 track Analogue. Going back to the early days my favorite records I made were all played live, with no click track. Although some of the click track records turned out quite good, GWAR, FEAR, Poisen & Stryper to name a few, but for the most part, the free productions, like Social Distortion, Christian Death, 45 Grave, TSOL, CH3, Mojo Nixon, those records were made without click and play better now than they ever did. They aged well. The guitar, drums, bass and vocals on SHDO were all played at the same time to the 24 track, the backgrounds and a few of the guitar overdubs were done later in the home studio. They used to say in the music business, “it ain’t rocket science” but, it a way it is, u have to aim the rocket where the planet is going to be, u have to go where they aren’t with the music…..
Mantra #1001 – “The only thing u can do better than anybody else is to be yourself” (another mantra I had to eat). I did my best to write and play to my personal DNA. I wanted to prove to myself that after telling so many people what to do with their music that I actually knew what I was talking about. . . .

Carlos Manso:
Portuguese-Dutch multi-instrumentalist and partner in crime, plays drums for GDX, bass in the African band Zuluwannsago, guitar in the country duo Ruigoord Rebels, keyboard in the rap-hippie jam band DAT = DAT, in addition to doing live sound around town in clubs and halls. We meet in a party house in West Amsterdam, he stuck his hand out and said, “hi, I‘m Carlos”, and talked about the music business a bit, little did we know the ball was beginning to roll. Fate is funny that way. . . .

Yrjänä Rankka:
Born and raised in northern Finland, classical/jazz/fusion/Dead Kennedy’s geek intellectual of the band. Lived where it gets dark for 6 months of at a time (and stays light for a similar time) considers people with black out curtains wimps. One of the few players who got the somewhat challenging arrangements and structures of GDX with no problem. Also plays contra bass in the mighty NO | ME. Favorite quote – “they’re just pop songs”

Our dutch citizen who keeps the band tight and dandy, is the new kit on the block and plays all the R&R classics on his guitar to make sure you can feel like a old man.
