EXP plays Hendrix is EXP's carefully crafted up to three hour long tribute to their biggest influence: The Jimi Hendrix Experience. EXP plays Hendrix is the best and most accurate Hendrix tribute in The Netherlands and regular plays over the border too.

Frontman Karst van Oosten switched from keys to guitar at age 15 after having seen a video of Hendrix live at the legendary Monterey popfestival. In his early days before he entered music school and went professional, He taught himself how to play by figuring out all Jimi's tunes and solos and to this day Hendrix remains his biggest influence. Watching Karst sing and play you can tell Jimi's style of playing, general approach and showmanship is very close to his own style. That's why unlike many other tributes EXP's Hendrix tribute feels and sounds authentic and natural.

Not only is front man Karst van Oosten's playing and singing up on par, but unlike other Hendrix tributes drums and bass parts do also sound like the way Hendrix's Mitch Mitchell and bassists Noel Redding and Billy Cox used to sound. This is largely because Karst is a multi-instrumentalist and masters not only the guitar parts, but also has in dept knowledge of the bass and drum parts of Hendrix'material, he manages to get across the dynamics, heart and soul and all he little details of the specific drum and bass parts his talented rhythm sections. The result: Jimi's musics soundss like it's supposed to sound, with the right sound and feel to it.

EXP plays Hendrix means up to three hours of the most legendary Jimi Hendrix tunes with keen eye for detail and front man Karst van Oosten is known to put on a show a.o. playing with his guitar in the back of his neck, with his teeth and so on. Great night out and the best option for true Hendrix fans.
