J'von / Solo-artiest
Born on the island of St. Maarten on the 30th of July 1982, Giovani Haddocks, who goes by the
artist name ‘J’von’ started his music career at the age of 17. J’von found his love for singing through
musical influencers such as R. Kelly and. “As a teenager growing up I listened to a lot of R&B, hip
hop, reggae and dancehall” he says. “And it was because of the support of my high school music
teacher that I decided to take the first step in the music industry”.
J’von first started singing R&B, but soon after collaborating with musician ‘Gyptian’, switched over
to Reggae. His music now consists of the genres reggae, dancehall, R&B and hip hop.
Now with more experience, and after working on a new style to his voice, with a more international
sound, J’von has decided to mix his style with a more R&B mix and a touch of reggae and dancehall.
As a singer song writer, J’von writes songs with a message especially for the ladies. He wants the
ladies to feel what he’s saying in the song and to take a journey with him through the song. “I want
to be their Music Therapy guy”.
In collaboration with his producer, “Remy Ridotto”, J’von is working on some new singles that are
sure to make an impression and that will add to the ones already released this year, “slow wine” and
“diamond girl”. With his unique singing style he is looking to get the attention from the Caribbean,
European and International scene.
