HIRING: Full-stack/Rails & AI developer | Amsterdam

Do you want to work at an innovative music industry disruptor? This is your chance! Gigstarter is continuously improving its concept and its applications, used by thousands of artists and bookers across Europe. We are a fast-growing, international startup where you'll be able to learn and apply a lot (also outside of the IT domain). At Gigstarter you can really have meaningful impact and you'll be working with a diverse, interdisciplinary team. We're an IT based, lean startup. That's why we're in search of a creative FS developer to enrich our team. Starting asap. Are you an entrepreneur and creator? Then read on:

Function description

You will work on the development of the front & back-end of new web-applications/features and on the continuous improvement of the user experience and tools within the Gigstarter ecosystem. An important part of the tasks consists on automating processes in order to support community managers' tasks. Back-end and Ruby on Rails (or alike, say Django) experience therefore is a must. Though if you're a fast learner and are committed, everything is possible.

You can start immediately. Our preference goes to a full-time placement so that you can immerse yourself fully in the projects and the team, but can – depending on your ambitions or other projects – be combined in a part-time placement, working together with other developers within certain specialty areas. The Rails based ecosystem gradually grows towards an open API infrastructure so third parties can plug in and offer their services to our user base. Currently AI/machine learning is being developed behind JIVE in order to improve suggestions and rankings. Some AI knowledge or interests would therefore be very helpful. The sky is the limit.

We are looking for someone who is/has:

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience with React
  • Experience with / interests in AI
  • Feel for UX/UI
  • Comfortable working with HTML, CSS and javascript
  • If student, 4th year BSc. or MSc.
  • Team player
  • Fully gets Gigstarter, its values and its mission
  • Available to work on-site in Amsterdam
