Wat zijn de veelbelovende jazz musici van 2017? Op de eerste avond van het Red Light Jazz festival heeft Gigstarter de eer om een paar van de grootste talenten van haar muzikanten-platform het podium te bieden. Drie unieke jazz acts krijgen twintig minuten om het publiek te vermaken en de kenners te overtuigen.

Onze selectie voor 2017 is als volgt:
BELLA JAZZ COMBO
Een jong stel jazz musici uit Zeist dat op originele wijze standards speelt. Het trio - bestaande uit piano, gitaar en drums - laat zich beïnvloeden door George Benson en Herbie Hancock. CARLY E.
Een ambitieuze jonge dame met achtergrond in de klassieke muziek breekt los van alle muzikale dogma's. Carly E. speelt op haar cello eigen werk en zingt in verschillende talen. De pop en singer-songwriter elementen zijn evident, desalniettemin mag dit muzikale experiment zeker plaatsnemen op een modern jazz festival. WILD ORGAN & DRUMS
Deze twee mannen hebben de energie van een compleet orkest. Op maximaal volume. Funk, jazz en soul worden samengevoegd; het effect is dat het rockt en dat je niet stil kan staan. Meer over WILD Organ & Drums: https://www.gigstarter.nl/artiesten/wild-organ-drums

Na de New Jazz Talents is er een korte ombouw van 30 minuten. Iedereen mag in de zaal blijven.

CONCERT: CONRAD HERWIG
De New Yorkse Jazz trombonist Conrad Herwig heeft aangeboden de avond in de Winston Kingdom af te willen sluiten. Conrad Herwig heeft samen gewerkt met namen als Tito Puente, Frank Sinatra, Joe Lovano en Tom Harrell. Conrad Herwig zal met complete band spelen, bestaande uit Joris Teepe (bas), Rob van Bavel (piano) en Marcel Serierse (drums). Een mooi begin van het Red Light Jazz festival!

New Jazz Talents & Conrad Herwig is onderdeel van het Red Light Jazz festival dat plaats vindt van vrijdag 2 t/m zondag 4 juni op de wallen, Amsterdam. De avond in de Winston Kingdom wordt mede mogelijk gemaakt door Rutte Distillers, Gigstarter en Red Light Jazz.

De complete avond is vrij toegankelijk net als het grootste gedeelte van het festival. Laat u verrassen door nieuw jazz talent en leid uw weekend heerlijk in met jazztrombone legende Conrad Herwig!

What are the most promising Dutch jazz musicians of 2017? On the first night of the Red Light Jazz festival, Gigstarter proudly presents her finest jazz musicians. Three unique jazz acts will get 20 minutes each to entertain the crowd and prove to be worthy of the name ‘talent’.

BELLA JAZZ COMBO
Three young musicians play jazz standards in an original laid-back fashion. The trio - consisting of piano, guitar and drums - clearly is influenced by artists such as George Benson and Herbie Hancock. CARLY E.
An ambitious young lady with a background in classical music breaks free from any musical dogma. Carly E. plays original material on her cello and sings along in several languages. WILD ORGAN & DRUMS

After the New Jazz Talents there will be a short changeover of about 30 minutes. Everyone can stay in the venue.

CONRAD HERWIG IN CONCERT
The Jazz Trombone player Conrad Herwig has offered to play as closing act at the Winston Kingdom. Conrad Herwig worked together with names such as Tito Puente, Frank Sinatra, Joe Lovano en Tom Harrell. During Red Light Jazz he will be playing with an entire band, consisting of Joris Teepe (bass), Rob van Bavel (piano) en Marcel Serierse (drums). Sounds like a good beginning of the Red Light Jazz festival!

New Jazz Talents & Conrad Herwig is part of the Red Light Jazz festival that will take place from Friday 2nd tot Sunday 4th of June at the red light district in Amsterdam. The night at the Winston Kingdom is conjointly made possible by Rutte Distillers, Gigstarter and Red Light Jazz.
