Jacob Solarek / Solo-artiest
Jacob Solarek is a musician who is solo artist as well as the leader of the cubes – band arisen in 2012. Jacob is the guitarist and singer. He writes his original material as well as performs covers from different genres (jazz, rock & blues).
As a solo act, Jacob often uses loop station, recording some riffs and playing over them whilst singing. But also he is a member of the Big Band, where he plays with many brass and rhythm sections musicians. When it comes to the cubes, they have out their first EP – “Fall Out” and they’re working on upcoming LP release.
However the cubes debuted with a few appearances in Poland, Jacob was pursuing his solo and the cubes’ performances in the UK.
In July 2014 the band played at the theatrical/musical event “Experyment Festival”. The performance features English harmonica player - Nine-Lives Thomas, who had travelled over from the UK to perform.
Along the solo performances, there was formed another collective - Jazz Experyment – jazz combo playing mainly standards. This band appeared during 2015 edition of "Experyment Festival”.
During the last couple of years, Jacob as a solo artist as well as the member of the bands he was involved, made quite a few appearances around Liverpool. The main ones includes: Cohesion Night, Threshold Festival, The City of Liverpool College, Liverpool Sound City Festival 2016, The Magnet, Hannah's Bar, The Zanzibar Club, The Brink, The Leaf, The Jacaranda Club, The Attic, The Pilgrim, Everyman Theatre, Night and Day Café, Edge Hill University or The Cavern Pub.
